Job Purpose
The University of Scranton's Department of Health and Human Performance has an ongoing need for highly qualified adjunct faculty to staff a variety of courses each semester in the fields of Kinesiology, Nutrition, and Public Health. Adjunct faculty may instruct one or more courses each semester on an “as needed” basis. A particular need is common in Nutrition and Public Health.
Essential Duties
Adjunct faculty are expected to teach a specified course(s); prepare course materials; provide support and guidance to students; and report grades.
Additional Skills Required
Certifications in a field relevant to the course, if applicable.
For nutrition courses, applicants must have a current registration and maintain a current status with the Commission on Dietetic Registration, along with being an active member in good standing with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Minimum Education Requirements
Master’s Degree in Kinesiology, Public Health, Nutrition and Dietetics, or similar discipline required.
Preferred Education
Preference will be given to candidates who have an ABD
or PhD in the aforementioned degrees for Kinesiology, Public Health, and Nutrition/Dietetics.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum Job Experience Requirements:
Previous teaching experience and willingness to be flexible in class scheduling.
