Department Leahy Community Health Center Job Purpose
Summer Staff will guide and support students entering The University of Success residential summer experience, a program that works with underserved students to guide them to college level success.
This position is a temporary, ten day position beginning on July 12, 2026 and ending July 21, 2026. This position is 24 hours a day with limited free time, subject to change based on the student’s schedule.
You will be expected to meet with the teaching team the week prior to beginning camp.
Essential Duties
Summer staff is responsible to supervise high school students during an on-campus overnight camp for 10 days.
Summer Staff will guide and support students entering The University of Success residential summer experience, a program that works with underserved students to guide them to college level success.
Summer Staff will provide a focus on academics and social skills on The University of Scranton campus under the supervision of professional teaching staff.
Additional Skills Required
Must be a mature, responsible leader who can take direction and has sound critical thinking skills as this position is responsible for students safety and well being while on campus and on field trips.
Must have effective management, organizational, and interpersonal skills and the ability to manage a group of children.
Must possess conflict resolution skills.
Basic CPR certification is required. A copy of current BLS/CPR is required.
Pennsylvania State Police criminal record check, FBI Criminal Background Check (requires fingerprints), and a Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance are all required prior to starting the position. These background checks will be coordinated by the Human Resources Department.
