$75,629.00 - $98,317.00The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Responsibilities:
GENERAL PURPOSEProvides services to evaluate, prevent, diagnose and treat hearing and balance disorders in children and/or adult populations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Performs and interprets diagnostic audiologic and/or vestibular evaluations for routine and complex patient populations.
- Performs hearing aid evaluations, fittings and counseling and verification for patients of all ages with both routine and complex needs.
- Works with multiple hearing aid manufacturers/programming interfaces.
- May also perform cochlear implant evaluation, selection, mapping and counseling.
- Provides counseling, education and guidance to patients and their families regarding disorder(s).
- Adapts existing resources to meet patient and caregiver needs.
- Maintains comprehensive electronic medical records (EMR) for each patient.
- Communicates through written reports, flowsheet documentation, and other EMR specific tools.
- Recommends changes in standard departmental practices.
- Works collaboratively with professionals from other disciplines.
- Conducts clinical teaching with medical students and undergraduate/graduate students from various colleges/universities.
- Provides education and in-services to hospital faculty and staff regarding hearing and balance disorders/treatment.
- May identify potential research projects, assist with the design and implementation of clinical research and data collection activities.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Master's degree in Audiology and 1 year of experience in Audiology required
- PhD or Au.D. in Audiology preferred Or equivalent combination of education and experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Ability to work collaboratively and build strong team-based relationships required Flexibility and problem-solving skills required
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Eligibility for Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology upon hire required
- New York State license in Audiology upon hire required
