Position Summary
The Compensation Analyst will report to the Director of Compensation. The analyst supports the design, implementation, administration of compensation programs and projects within the University. This role assists with salary benchmarking, job evaluations, and compensation data analysis to ensure competitive and equitable pay practices aligned with organizational policies and market trends. This role is responsible for completing salary surveys, ensuring the integrity of compensation data, documenting processes and protocols, and serving
as core project member on compensation projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Duties And Responsibilities
Assist in the administration of university compensation programs.
Ensure compensation databases, salary ranges, and job classifications are updated.
Conduct market salary research and benchmarking using compensation surveys including completing salary surveys and developing databases and market composites.
Conduct job evaluations and ensure roles are properly classified within the compensation framework.
Design, development, and generate standard and ad hoc compensation reports and analysis for HR leadership and management.
Support the Director of Compensation on projects, data analysis, documentation and development of new processes and tools/communications.
Ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable wage and labor regulations.
Respond to employee and manager inquiries related to compensation policies and procedures.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee compensation information.
Collaborate with HR partners on compensation-related initiatives and projects.
Other Duties And Responsibilities
Perform other duties assigned.
Licenses, Tools, And Equipment
Personnel computers and printers; word processing, database, and spreadsheet software; Excel, Microsoft Office Suite; HRIS Software.

Required
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum of three (3) years of experience in human resources, financial services or business administration, including at least one (1) year with a focus on compensation, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal communications skills.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, including ability to manipulate large sets of data and provide analytical support.
- Strong data presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem solving experience with a focus on data accuracy and integrity.
- Strong understanding of compensation principles and practices.
- Experience managing and supporting projects.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information to employees in ways they are able to understand.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees at various levels of the institution and the general public.
- Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite and other HRIS Software.
- Demonstrated ability to work with groups/populations of diverse experience and perspectives.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation, or progress toward obtaining the certification.
