While each Graduate Assistant may have a primary area of assignment (for example, Tutoring Services or Disability and Accessibility Services) based on departmental needs, experience, and interests, all Graduate Assistants are members of the broader SSC team and may provide support across functional areas. Graduate Assistants report to the Associate Dean but work closely with and support the Director of Disability and Accessibility Services and the Assistant Director of Tutoring Services and the Writing Center. This structure provides Graduate Assistants with experience in student support and higher education administration while allowing the SSC to respond flexibly to changing student and program needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Student Success Center Support

- Assist students with navigating SSC resources and connecting with appropriate University services.
- Develop student-facing resources, presentations, communications, and educational materials.
- Provide support for special projects and emerging Student Success Center initiatives.
- Collaborate with professional staff, undergraduate student employees, peer leaders, tutors, and other members of the SSC team.
- Provide front-desk or general SSC coverage as needed.

- Help coordinate group tutoring, study halls, academic workshops, embedded academic support, and other targeted academic-support initiatives.
- Support tutor recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, communication, and ongoing professional development.
- Assist with the development of tutor training materials, workshops, academic-success resources, and other programming.
- Assist with outreach designed to increase student awareness and utilization of tutoring and academic-support resources.
- Support programming during high-demand academic periods, including midterms and final examinations.
