Definition Of Classification
This position reports to the Senior Associate Director of First Year Admissions and works to execute enrollment strategy to meet the needs of the institution. This professional position is responsible for representing Undergraduate Admissions and the University of Redlands’ academic programs, admission requirements, and financial aid opportunities to prospective students, parents, guidance counselors, and educational advisors.

Standard office setting. Duties performed are primarily in an office environment while sitting at a desk or computer workstation or in meetings. At least minimal environmental controls to assure health and comfort. This position requires flexibility to work evening and weekend hours as well as the ability to travel, as required.
Physical Demands
Incumbents regularly sit for long periods; walk short distances on a regular basis; may travel to various locations to attend meetings and conduct work; use hands and fingers to operate an electronic keyboard or other office machines; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; stoop or kneel or crouch to file; speak clearly and distinctly to answer telephones and to provide information; see to read fine print and operate computer; hear and understand voices over telephone and in person; and lift, carry and/or move objects weighing up to 20 pounds.

Duties And Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Communicating effectively about the value of a liberal arts education.
- Representing the University at high schools, college fairs, and community-based organizations throughout the country.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with prospective students by guiding them through the admissions process via telephone, email, print, and in-person communication throughout the entire admissions cycle up through enrollment.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with independent counselors, community-based organizations, and other third-party connections.
- Managing geographic territory by following a recruitment plan, establishing relationships, and enrolling students from assigned territories.
- Conducting appointments and information sessions on campus with prospective students, families, groups, and special visitors.
- Participating in on and off campus admissions office events throughout the year including Discover Redlands, Bulldog Bound: Admitted Students Day, counselor programs, yield receptions, and student fly-ins.
- Counseling prospective students and parents on academic programs, admission requirements and procedures, and all aspects of financial aid.
- Approximately 8-10 weeks of travel to recruit students. Travel may extend throughout the United States.
- Provides backup support to other admission positions as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Any combination of experience/training/education equivalent to, but not limited to, the following:
Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Excellent writing, interviewing, and public speaking skills.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to work in a fast-paced metric driven environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must be available to work evenings, nights, and weekends for recruitment travel activities throughout the term.
- Proficiency in computer systems to include Microsoft suite, including presentation applications. Ability to work in a paperless admissions process and to learn new systems to include CRM and institution wide student information systems.
- Must be a self-starter with ability to work independently and on a team.
- A valid driver’s license with a good driving record and reliable vehicle is required. Upon offer of employment, a current DMV printout will be required.
- A commitment to helping students and their families through the college admissions process.
- A creative and innovative thinker that will contribute ideas to enhance our overall recruitment strategy.
- Ability to work with culturally and ethnically diverse populations of prospective students, parents, high school and independent counselors, as well as faculty and staff.
- Bilingual skills recommended.
