The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is recruiting a Manager - Grants & Contracts (Pre & Post-Award) to support our growing research portfolio. The department's research program ranks second nationally in NIH funding with a diverse portfolio including research in traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury and musculoskeletal regeneration. This position is primarily responsible for managing grant administration duties and supporting all related operations to ensure resources are properly allocated to support research needs including overseeing grant-related financial activities and account reconciliations. Incumbent will serve as primary contact for all grant and contract issues. Will also be responsible for facilitating proposal submissions including budget development, post-award grant and financial management, compliance, and personnel projections for their own small portfolio. Prior management of staff in a supervisory capacity is required. Budgeting and financial management experience is also required. Prior experience managing large multisite studies as well as working with various federal, foundation and Industry sponsors is highly preferred. Prior experience using PERIS, Fiscal Panther, MyRA, grants forecasting, or other grants and finance related systems is also preferred.

Essential Functions
- Manages grant administration duties, including preparation, review, and submission processes for grant proposals, applications, reports, and presentations; supports all related operations and ensures resources are properly allocated to support research needs.
- Supervises staff, including hiring, performance reviews, and documenting disciplinary actions and other human resource administration; manages work schedules and approves timecards; provides professional development opportunities; distributes and reviews work.
- Oversees financial activities and analyzes funding trends; oversees reconciliations of accounts, service agreements, transfers, and expenditures.
- Serves as a primary point of contact for all grant and contract issues, including the interpretation of policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Develops and improves processes related to grant administrative functions; maintains current knowledge of grant policies and changes.
- Reviews and reports data and analyses for special inquiries and issues as needed.
- Manages own small portfolio.
