Essential Functions
- Incumbent will assist both academic and clinical administrators in performing day-to-day activities related to the research function of the department. They will analyze and interpret data pertinent to grant management, budgeting and financial statements.
- Maintains and monitors Sponsored Research and Departmental financial accounts: Sets up new grant in department accounting system; seeks faculty input on appropriate grant personnel effort and time periods prior to changing SPARs
- Meet with faculty quarterly about the status of their grants and personnel distribution
- Prepares financial closing memos on grants to Research/Cost Accounting Department
- Resolves Sponsored Projects Overdrawn Account Balances monthly
- Monitors levels monthly on all closed accounts
- Archives closed account files
- Assists Post Award Account Manager with quarterly SPAR certification process
- Levels cleared on each active account before the last working day of the month
- Clear and consistent communication both written and oral
- Exercises discretion with any confidential information
- Cooperation and flexibility with colleagues and supervisors
