Essential Functions
- Analyzes financial information submitted by applicants using established federal and University standards and guidelines to determine financial needs; selects candidates and determines the type and amount of financial aid to be awarded.
- Assists in the preparation of student financial assistance policies for the University.
- Corresponds and conducts interviews with applicants and their parents, counsels students and answers inquiries from various sources on financial aid policies and procedures.
- Assists in making application for federal funds for government loan programs; administers rules and regulations set forth by the federal government concerning government funds.
- Coordinates and administers assigned financial aid programs such as the federal work study program and federal and institutional loan programs; maintains contact with university payroll clerks, undergraduate, graduate, and professional school student aid coordinators and other University and external individuals to carry out program activities; develops and implements new initiatives within assigned program areas.
- Prepares detailed reports and compiles information concerning undergraduate financial aid and assigned programs as requested by the federal government and University officials. Edits publication brochures, questionnaires, applications, and other material distributed by the Financial Aid office.
