The University of North Texas System Office of Academic Affairs serves as the central administrative body overseeing academic matters across the enterprise. Its primary roles and responsibilities include coordinating and implementing system-wide academic policies, standards, and initiatives and collaborating with individual campuses to ensure consistency in curriculum development, accreditation processes, and adherence to system-wide academic regulations and strategic goals.
Position Overview
The Department of Academic Affairs is seeking a Digital Accessibility Tester interested in digital accessibility and Title II ADA compliance in online courses and learning environments. The Academic Affairs Digital Accessibility Assistant will support the Academic Affairs accessibility team in reviewing and remediating online course content and learning environments so that they are ADA compliant.
Minimum Qualifications
Degree from Accredited Institution or equivalent experience. Experienced with commonly
used accessibility software includes: screen readers and screen magnifiers such as JAWS,
NVDA, Narrator, ZoomText; WAVE and/or aXe web accessibility evaluators, color contrast
analyzers, Canvas, captioning software. Experience with any of these programs or
comparable programs is required.

- Ensuring that online courses are designed to be accessible to students with disabilities.
- Performing accessibility testing of course content, which includes third-party websites, software applications, different document formats, multimedia, and Canvas content.
- Review content used in online instruction, assisting faculty and staff with remediating course content to be ADA compliant and accessible.
- Working closely with the compliance team to determine tasks and needs.
