General Description / Primary Purpose
The Project Manager, under the direction of an Assistant Director or above, assists in the design, development, and implementation of department processes and/or programs. Recommends policies and procedures to ensure effective coordination of departmental programs.

The director provides general directions, and the Assistant Director works more closely with the incumbent and holds regular meetings to discuss pending issues requiring direction and input.
Required Qualifications
Master's or Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.

Job Functions
- Coordinates and assists in the planning, cost estimating, budget control, obtaining permits, construction management, and problem solving for the effective delivery of assigned capital projects.
- Manage the design and construction process to ensure the timely delivery of the facility.
- Coordinate construction activities with consultants, contractors, and other resources in the delivery of the technical documents and subsequently, the completed facility.
- Interact with Jurisdictional Authorities to obtain appropriate permits and approvals.
- Under the direction of the Director, the incumbent will manage the design and construction process from start to finish. This will include managing budgets and timelines, managing user groups, consultants, and other vendors.
- Formulate and recommend procedures to effectively administer Capital Projects.
- Performs assignments using independent judgment and making technical decisions as necessary in developing solutions to construction problem areas.
- Acts as liaison with state officials and agencies, commodity vendors, outside consultants, and user groups within the university, as well as with higher levels of the administration.
- Handles confidential project information with a high level of discretion related to construction activities, consultants, and vendors.
- During declared campus emergencies, this position may be required to perform specific job-related duties at a designated off-campus location or place of residence.
