What are the responsibilities and job description for the New Postdoc Opportunity Studying Achilles Tendinopathy at UNC Chapel Hill! position at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill?
NIH-Sponsored Postdoctoral Fellow in Achilles Tendinopathy at UNC Chapel Hill!
Post-Doctoral Research Associate
UNC Applied Biomechanics Laboratory
Lampe Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
The Applied Biomechanics Laboratory (abl.bme.unc.edu) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for a postdoctoral position to help lead a new and highly collaborative line of research designed to assess the structure and function of Achilles subtendons in patients with Achilles tendinopathy. Our interdisciplinary team spanning UNC Chapel Hill and the University of Delaware will integrate advanced in vivo techniques, including novel biomechanical sensors and cutting-edge medical imaging, with state-of-the-art modeling approaches to enhance understanding of anatomic variability in Achilles tendinopathy toward more effective, personalized clinical interventions. To accomplish this, the applicant will have access to an integrative combination of experimental and computational techniques, from quantitative motion analysis and in vivo ultrasound imaging to sophisticated high field MRI facilities. The position is funded for an initial period of 1 year. However, we are deeply committed to the training and professional development of our post-docs, and intend for annual renewals beyond the initial appointment for a total of up to 3 years.
The research line is a collaboration between UNC Chapel Hill and the University of Delaware, with more details available here:
