Position Summary
The Executive Assistant (EA) position provides executive support for the Chair in the Division of Chemical Biology and Medicinal Chemistry that is characterized by operations with multiple and varied programs/components. The role of this position is defined and impacted by the mutual working relationship established with the Chair. These positions serve as the principle administrative support. There are situations where incumbents’ functions as an assistant the majority of the time, but still have some responsibilities of an operational nature. Work ranges from standardized office support assignments to performance of administrative duties involving decision-making and judgment. Public contact is a major component of positions, both internal and external to the organization. Work requires contact with faculty, staff, managers of other units within the organization, representatives of other state agencies/universities, clients, service recipients, elected/appointed representatives, and the public.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency and three years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or Associate’s degree in secretarial science, business administration, or a related discipline and one year of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience ; or Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business administration or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Prefer seven years related administrative experience, preferably in an academic setting and college degree.
Extensive computer experience with word processing, database management, presentation software and spreadsheets is preferred.
Usage of the Microsoft suite office products, PeopleSoft software and associate reporting tools and the ability to adapt to a wide range of data sources and tools, and mastery of RAMSeS, as well as, lnfoPorte is preferred.
