ROLE of the POSITION
The Office of Admissions is excited to invite applications for the role of Admission Counselor/Evaluator. The Admission Counselor/Evaluator, reporting to the Assistant Director of Processing, is mainly responsible for evaluating applications for admission, managing audit reports to help expedite admissions decisions, and troubleshooting issues related to application processing. The Admission Counselor/Evaluator serves as a member of several territory management teams and work collaboratively with the recruitment staff and orientation staff within the Office of Admissions in order to provide excellent service to prospective students.
The Admission Counselor/Evaluator learns, understands, and applies knowledge gained regarding: admissions policies, business processes and procedures, and the process applications move through in the CRM and Student Information System. The Admission Counselor/Evaluator serves as an admission liaison to the Registrar's Office, advising centers, and other areas of the campus community as necessary.
Counseling work entails communicating with potential and current applicants to explain the admissions process, the evaluation process, and standards of admission. The Admission Counselor/Evaluator attends recruitment events as needed. Administrative work includes reviewing and evaluating the application materials and transcripts, entering data into the admissions software systems such as PeopleSoft, Salesforce, and working with the Degree Audit Team to ensure rapid and accurate transfer equivalency decisions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and 1-3 years of professional experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Knowledge of all academic policy, undergraduate academic programs and curriculum.
* Knowledge of national university practices regarding degree audit and course articulation.
* Knowledge of Nevada System of Higher Education and Board of Regents transfer policies.
* Knowledge of higher education current issues, specifically academic issues and policies.
* Knowledge of all admission policies.
* Excellent communication skills: interpersonal, oral and written English.
* Excellent time management and organizational skills. Need to be able to learn and work proficiently in all student systems, including but not limited to People Soft, Salesforce and Rebel Docs (imaging system).
* Need to think critically and problem solve independently.
* Must be a team player, flexible and able to pivot as needed in a busy office.
