Job Description
To digitize and microfilm historical collections to provide greater access to the collections.
- Convert historical documents and archival collections into high-quality digital and microfilm formats to increase public and research access.
- Carefully prepare and organize collections for conservation, binding, microfilming, and high-resolution digitization scanning.
- Executed strict quality control (QC) protocols on all digitized images and microfilm reels to guarantee adherence to archival clarity and formatting standards.
- Manage preparation, tracking, receiving, and storage of archival shipments.
- Troubleshoot scanning hardware and software as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Shift
20 hours per week, flexible between Monday-Friday between 8am-5pm
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to lift and carry 35 to 40-pound boxes is mandatory.
- Ability to climb ladders.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Preference will be given to candidates with previous library work experience in digital imaging projects.
- Experience using Microsoft Office including MS Access, MS Excel and MS Word; and Adobe products.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Anticipated Hiring Range
Salary Range: $17.19 - $17.71 per hour
Grade: GGS 006
