Child Development Lab
The University of Missouri's Child Development Lab is seeking a part-time kitchen assistant. This position will primarily assist the CDL Chef in cleaning and food prep tasks. This position offers consistent hours Monday-Thursday.
Responsibilities
- Dishwashing
- General cleaning and specialized cleaning of kitchen equipment and utensils
- Documentation of temperatures and food expiration dates
- Daily food prep of a variety of fresh vegetables and meats
- Assistance in the completion of kitchen administration tasks as needed
- Appointment Length: Permanent. The center is closed during University of Missouri observed holidays.
Hours: 15-20 hours per week
Schedule: 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. or 12 p.m. - 3 p.m., Monday - Thursday
A job offer for this position is contingent on passing a physical examination to determine if the candidate possesses the physical capabilities necessary to perform the essential functions.
* Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
* Ability to handle and lift heavy kitchen utensils and supplies (e.g. 40 pounds)
* Good physical health.
* Some knowledge of and experience in basic food preparation, service, and/or sanitation methods and a desire to provide high-quality customer service are strongly preferred.
- High school Diploma or HiSet
- No Kitchen experience required
- Current Boone County Food Handlers Card preferred, not required
Salary Range: $16 - $17 per hour
Grade: GGS-B
