Job Summary

Research position available for a highly motivated individual interested in cancer biology and gaining valuable lab experience. This individual will work amongst a team including medical students, residents, UM faculty, and various researchers making this a valuable opportunity for those interested in medical school.

Responsibilities*

• Complete multiplex fluorescent immunohistochemistry (mfIHC) experiments on a variety of mouse and human tissue.
• Analyze cell spatial relationships of stained tissue using InForm software.
• Work with fluorescent microscope to scan mfIHC tissue.
• Help collect and maintain donor pancreatic specimen.
• Submit prepared samples to the UM pathology and histology cores.
• Ability to work independently, organize schedules and processes, prioritize tasks, and use problem solving abilities.

Required Qualifications*

• HS Diploma or Associate's Degree and 1 year experience required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

Desired Qualifications*

• Experience with fluorescent immunochemistry
• Experience with microscopy
• Experience with basic laboratory experiments (PCR, Western Blots, etc.)

Background Screening
