Job Summary

As the Assistant Director, Admissions and Recruiting you will develop and execute strategic recruitment and retention plans to achieve Part-Time MBA enrollment goals. In this role, you will monitor market trends, design marketing initiatives to enhance program visibility, manage event logistics, and counsel prospective students throughout the admissions process. You will report directly to the Director of Admissions.

This hybrid position is based in Ann Arbor, MI, with an expectation of three days per week on-site. The role will require occasional domestic and/or international travel and work outside standard business hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain that authorization throughout employment.

Responsibilities*

  • Plan and execute recruitment strategies and outreach activities to attract a diverse, high-quality applicant pool.
  • Build and maintain relationships with prospective students, alumni, and internal and external partners to strengthen applicant pipelines.
  • Serve as a primary resource for prospective students, providing guidance on programs, admissions requirements, and the application process.
  • Manage key components of the admissions process, including application review, plagiarism checks, interview coordination, and participation in admissions committee decisions.
  • Develop and evaluate recruitment, enrollment, and retention strategies aligned with program and institutional goals.
  • Analyze applicant, enrollment, and market trends to inform recruitment plans, projections, and strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with marketing and admissions leadership to develop targeted communications, promotional materials, and outreach campaigns that increase program visibility.
  • Manage CRM communications and contact strategies to support prospective student engagement throughout the recruitment and admissions lifecycle.


Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of related experience in program, project, or event management, including planning, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining effective relationships and communication channels with diverse groups and stakeholders at various organizational levels, both internal and external.
  • Demonstrated experience planning and executing logistics for academic programming, activities, and events.
  • Experience delivering presentations to diverse audiences, including senior-level stakeholders and external partners.
  • Advanced knowledge in Google docs, sheets and slides and Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint plus other database, email and calendar-keeping software and technologies is required.
  • Experience with CRM management.

Modes of Work

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.

Additional Information

Salary Information

The salary offer range for this position is $59,000 to $72,700. Salary offers are determined based on several factors, including a candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications, along with internal equity considerations. It is not common for new hires to be placed at the top of the range.

Union Affiliation

This position is included in the bargaining unit represented by the University Staff United (USU), which represents bargaining unit members in all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
