Job Summary
The Department of Recreational Services is seeking student staff help to create a welcoming and safe environment in the Recreation Centers weight room area for the fall and winter semesters. Shifts may be early mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends depending on availability.
Responsibilities*
Onsite
The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence. Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan
Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.
Background Screening
The University of Michigan conducts background checks on all job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background checks. Background checks are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Job Summary
The Department of Recreational Services is seeking student staff help to create a welcoming and safe environment in the Recreation Centers weight room area for the fall and winter semesters. Shifts may be early mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends depending on availability.
Responsibilities*
- Providing on-site supervision of the weight room to ensure patron safety
- Light cleaning and regular checks of the cardio room and indoor track
- Greet patrons and assist with providing answers to questions
- Enforcement of facility policies
- Respond to emergencies and provide first aid when necessary
- Must be a current UM-Flint student
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion
- Have the ability to obtain CPR/AED/First Aid certification
- Have current CPR/AED/First Aid certification
- Work study award for current of upcoming academic semester
