Shift: Union Position, 3:00pm – 11:30pm | Every other weekend and every other holiday required.

Responsibilities
- Performs general clerical duties including faxing, copying, phone/pager management, computer entry, and printer management
- Initiates and maintains patient records, both paper and electronic
- Answers patient call bells and relays needs to nursing staff
- Prints assignment sheets and patient lists to assist the charge RN
- Maintains awareness of clinical priorities, STAT orders, and urgent patient needs
- Processes department mail and maintains reports, logs, and forms
- Assists with supply management, equipment orders, and Biomed requests
- Coordinates with Security prior to planned discharges
- Conducts customer service rounds and assists with patient admissions
- Maintains a log of patients off the unit for non-clinical reasons
- Assists with audits including armband audits and safety rounds
- Upholds strict patient confidentiality in accordance with Maryland law
- Participates in unit committees, staff meetings, and cost containment efforts
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the Clinical Manager or Charge Nurse
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
- One year health care facility experience preferred.
- Highly effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels hospital staff, patients, visitors, and levels of staff.
- Medical Terminology preferred.
- Computer skills required; knowledge of Microsoft office to include Word and Outlook
