The Computer Science and Electrical Engineering Department at the College of Engineering Information and Technology is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a General Assistant/Program Coordinator to support the department and one of our grant-funded programs.
Position is part-time (19.5 hours per week). Position requires in-person work on the UMBC campus. Hours are Monday - Friday during standard business hours. Flexible schedule available.
In this role, you will support faculty members, students and staff with a variety of essential tasks, including:
Coordinating program events and activities
Organizing the application process
Participating in the application review process
Monitoring program expenditures, including scholar tuition remission and stipend distribution
Administering scholars’ professional development funds
Developing and distributing marketing materials for the SFS and DOD CySP programs
- Serve in office as the front desk point of contact
- Answer phones, email and respond to general inquiries
- Assist with office supplies inventory, ordering, restocking, and distribution
- Maintain the department calendars
- Coordinate mail and packages for delivery and pick up
- Monitor room access requests and permissions
- Monitor conference room schedules and assist with reservations
- Coordinate room readiness including seating, resets and materials
- Posts announcements as directed
- General in office duties as assigned

- High School Diploma/GED
- Experience in administrative/clerical, customer support, or related area.
- Proficient with computers and basic office technology
- Excellent customer service skills
- Background in procurement or related areas
- Ability to quickly learn new tools
- Customer service-oriented with a positive approach to working with students

Hourly Salary Range: Minimum: $19 to Maximum: $25, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
