The University of Maine at Presque Isle seeks an Administrative Specialist (CL2)- YourPace Enrollment to provide enrollment and registration support for YourPace students, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant course enrollment and student record management. The role monitors enrollment activity, degree progress, and eligibility for course additions, while maintaining MaineStreet and degree audit accuracy and supporting student success through coordination with Academic Success Coaches and campus partners.

This is a full-time position with a fixed schedule of Thursday through Monday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. , designed to ensure consistent and timely processing of enrollment requests and student support needs.

Remote or hybrid work is available; however, a dedicated, private remote workspace is required. The workspace must support confidential conversations, comply with FERPA requirements, and be large enough to accommodate a full workstation setup, including two monitors and docking equipment. Occasional travel may be required for training, meetings, or events.

The starting rate for this full time position is $20.39 (non-negotiable) for a new hire or the appropriate transfer rate for a current employee within the ACSUM collective bargaining unit. In addition, the University will contribute up to a 4% matching contribution to the UMS retirement plan. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision, and tuition waiver programs for employees and dependents. Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) and sufficient experience.
  • Two years of administrative support experience.
  • Technology Requirements: Stable, high-speed internet connection (minimum 25 Mbps; hotspots are not acceptable).
  • A dedicated, private remote workspace is required for remote or hybrid work. The space must be suitable for confidential conversations, compliant with FERPA requirements, and able to accommodate a full workstation including two monitors and docking equipment.
  • Completion of a Remote Work Agreement Form.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills are critical. Must possess the ability to craft clear, accurate, and professional emails, as well as confidently and warmly guide students over the phone. Active listening skills are a must.
  • Basic computer skills including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Google applications, and communication technology (e.g., Zoom). Ability to navigate multiple software applications simultaneously.
  • An outgoing, positive manner with the ability to connect, motivate, and inspire people. Ability to relate to a diverse pool of prospective students with tact, diplomacy, and discretion.
  • Perseverance, high attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects, multitask, and work flexibly both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience working in Salesforce, MaineStreet, and ImageNow is highly valued.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; candidates with an Associate’s degree combined with related experience as an educator, or in admissions, tutoring, counseling, customer service, or sales will be considered.
  • Equivalent relevant experience specifically as an educator, or in admissions, tutoring, counseling, customer service, or sales.
  • Previous experience managing multiple projects and adapting to changing priorities in a higher education environment.
