Responsibilities:
The New Iberia Research Center is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate, Research Track, to contribute to the expanding biomedical research program at the Center and the University. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate strong potential for developing an independent academic research career with the ultimate goal of securing extramural funding within three years of hire. This position also offers the opportunity for scholarly growth toward the Assistant Professor level, including building a record of peer-reviewed publications and active participation in academic and professional meetings. Candidates with experience in nonhuman primate immunology research are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Contribute to the growth and advancement of the Center’s biomedical research program.
- Develop the foundation for an independent academic research career with a focus on obtaining extramural funding within three years.
- Engage in scholarly development toward an Assistant Professor level appointment.
- Produce peer-reviewed publications as a primary author or co-author.
- Participate in relevant academic and professional meetings to present research findings and network with peers.
- Conduct and support research with a preference for expertise in nonhuman primate immunology.
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in a relevant field
- Postdoctoral experience
Skills, Abilities, Etc.:
- Participation in the expansion of biomedical research and educational opportunities across the University in collaboration with academic units such as the Departments of Biology as well as collaboration with investigators at other academic institutions is highly desirable.
