The Director of Decision Support (DS) is a strategic leader responsible for driving the organization's data analytics vision, strategy, and execution. This role oversees the development and operation of enterprise-wide analytics solutions including the enterprise data warehouse, reporting platform, visualizations and data delivery that enables senior leaders and business units to make data-driven decision.
The Director leads a high-performing team of analysts and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. The person filling this role helps set vision, develop policy, plan projects, manage personnel and collaborate closely with university departments and customers. The Director supervises resources and daily tasks involved in designing and implementing information and data analytic solutions. This position is also responsible for ensuring that the university's data is secure and protected and follows the established governance guidelines while facilitating the proper access of data to clients. The Director will also be a member of the AITS Leadership Team and Chair the ITPC BI/PM Sub-Committee.
Duties And Responsibilities
This is a Full Time academic professional position. The expected start date is as soon as possible. Sponsorship for Work Authorization is not available for this position.

The budgeted salary range for the position is $160,000.00 - 170,000.00. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop and coordinate the strategic vision for the use of data and analytics for AITS and System Office. Partner with System Office and university units to align System level vision and university data directives and efforts.
- Deliver a data analytics platform and related services available for use by all staff and faculty across the System
- Be an advocate for data governance by representing DS and leading various committees and working groups across the universities and system.
- Oversee multiple concurrent data analytics projects; maintain a high-level view of project activities, status, and completion.
- Direct the allocation of resources, set priorities for projects where appropriate, and identify issues to be escalated.
- Provide vision on development or implementation of new services and technologies to meet current and emerging needs.
- Develop, monitor and evaluate the delivery of high-quality services and data products to ensure that meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Oversee the implementation of best practices related to data and analytics including the development of training programs and educational materials.
- Represent AITS to the University community, communicating status and general information in various capacities as the opportunities arise.
- Serve in a senior leadership role within AITS by attending Leadership Team meetings and participating on various committees and teams focused on delivery of initiatives within the organization.
- Participate in strategic planning efforts including the development and tracking of the AITS strategic plan.
- Promote the use of information driven analysis and insights in decision making across the System.
- Stay current on emerging trends in AI, machine learning, predictive analytics, and data visualization.
- Lead initiatives to modernize the organization's data infrastructure and capabilities.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical, computer science, or related field.
- Five or more years of experience in data warehousing or other data analytics or business intelligence environments.
- Master's degree in related field.
- Five or more years of experience bringing projects to completion on time and on budget.
- Ten years of data warehousing experience.
- Experience in a higher education.
- ERP implementation experience.
- Excellent facilitation, team, communication and leadership skills.
- Experience guiding and directing staff including managers.
