Summary:
The LMS Evaluation and Implementation Consultant will provide consulting expertise to support a learning management system implementation project. Working closely with leadership, this consultant will lead the assessment of current LMS environments, guide the evaluation and selection of the new platform, and provide hands-on implementation support during the initial deployment phase. This is a short-term, high-impact role suited to an experienced professional with a strong background in learning technology systems and higher education or continuing education contexts.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct an environmental scan and needs assessment of current LMS usage across operations, documenting requirements, pain points, and priorities
- Develop and administer an LMS evaluation framework, including criteria weighting, vendor outreach, and structured demos or pilots
- Support the formal vendor selection process, including preparing recommendation documentation for leadership review
- Coordinate with UI System stakeholders, vendors, and internal staff to establish implementation timelines and key milestones
- Identify risks and dependencies related to the platform migration and recommend mitigation strategies
- Produce clear documentation throughout the process, including assessment findings, decision rationale, and implementation planning artifacts
Any combination of the following, totaling 6 months from the categories below:
- Coursework in instructional technology, instructional design, or similar field.
- 30 semester hours equals 6 months
- Experience working with learning management systems.
- Experience leading LMS or other technical implementation projects.
- History of supporting online learning environments.
- Experience working with learning management systems and student information systems.
- Expert knowledge of project management, especially in the realm of learning and technology.
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and execute multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and subject matter experts.
