The Mortgage Loan Processor is responsible for managing the loan file from application through closing, ensuring all required documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with lending guidelines. This role works closely with loan officers, underwriters, members, and third-party partners to gather information, verify data, resolve conditions, and maintain timely communication throughout the loan process. The processor ensures a smooth, efficient workflow by organizing documentation, monitoring loan status, and preparing files for underwriting and final approval. This position plays a key role in delivering an exceptional member experience and supporting the credit union's mortgage lending goals. Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Provide outstanding service that meets the credit union's service promises and standards.

Maintains a thorough product knowledge in order to seek out opportunities to appropriately counsel and/or refer members on credit union products and services.

Prepares letters, forms, checks, and other documents used for collecting, disbursing, and recording mortgage principal, interest, and escrow account payments.

Examines documents such as deeds, assignments, and mortgages, to ensure compliance with escrow instructions, credit union policy, and legal requirements.

Orders property insurance policies to ensure protection against loss on mortgaged property.

Maintain a thorough knowledge of products and services and seek opportunities to refer appropriate products and services to members.

Respond to member inquiries via phone and e-mail.

Complies with all aspects of BSA/AML and OFAC regulations as it relates to this position.
Experience
One year to three years of similar or related experience.
Education
A high school education or GED..
Interpersonal Skills
A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary.
