Position Overview
General Technician I This position will perform general building maintenance tasks on a regular and continuing basis. It will provide general support for a variety of construction, trades, landscaping, exterior service and maintenance areas to repair and maintain university facilities and grounds. Job duties will vary widely depending on the work and projects assigned. Duties may include: Utilize basic tools and equipment Repair and maintain basic machinery, equipment and facility property Assist with routine facility inspections and monitor cleanliness Assist with inventory and distribution of deliveries Manually move and transfer items Participate in snow removal Other duties as assigned General Technician II This position independently performs semi-skilled maintenance and repair duties that vary widely depending on the work and projects assigned. It is responsible for inspecting, maintaining and repairing university equipment and facilities. The position will provide support for construction, maintenance and other skilled trade professionals to meet university needs. Duties may include: Perform routine maintenance and repairs to university facilities Assist trades, crafts, vendors and technical staff with construction, design and operational maintenance as needed Repair and maintain machinery, equipment and facilities Perform routine and non-routine facility inspections and monitor cleanliness Receive, inspect, inventory and distribute deliveries independently to appropriate entities Other duties as assigned
