What are the responsibilities and job description for the HVAC Technician position at University of Findlay?
The University of Findlay (www.findlay.edu) is seeking a full-time HVAC Technician, responsible for assisting the Director of Maintenance with all facets of University related HVAC systems and requires a heavy emphasis on trouble shooting and performing preventive maintenance of mechanical systems (both commercial and residential) and spaces. An electrical background and a general understanding of the functionality for HVAC systems, energy conservation, scheduling, and multiple aspects of BAS and operations will be vital to this role. This position will have additional duty requirements such as covering special projects, event setup, and snow removal. Also, this position is on a call-in rotation with other Facilities employees.
A high School diploma is required, with work related experience preferred. Preference given to candidates with experience in energy markets.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body; be able to reach overhead; be able to work in various positions, including stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time; be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks; and be able to frequently lift 50 pounds of weight throughout the assigned workday.
Travel is an expectation of this position. A valid driver’s license and a safe driving record required.
