Position Summary: Are you looking for a hands-on career where your work makes a real difference? Join our team in Warner Robins, Georgia, and help protect U.S. Air Force aircraft and equipment by applying advanced coatings and corrosion protection systems. In this role, you'll work with a skilled team to prepare metal and composite parts for testing and coating. Your daily tasks will include measuring, cutting, labeling, cleaning, sanding, and preparing parts before applying protective finishes. You'll also keep accurate records of your work to ensure every project meets quality standards. You'll learn to apply a variety of protective coatings, including liquid paint, powder coatings, and other specialized finishes used on military aircraft and support equipment. If you enjoy working with your hands, paying attention to detail, and following step-by-step instructions, this is an excellent opportunity to build valuable technical skills. Successful candidates will be able to properly prepare surfaces and spray liquid coatings by following U.S. Air Force technical procedures and safety standards. Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, strong work ethic and a willingness to be taught and learn are required.
  • Candidate should be dependable, enjoy hands on work, and possess basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to read and follow step by step instructions.
  • Candidate should be comfortable using a computer for everyday tasks, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint to document work and communicate with the team.
  • Candidate should be self motivated, take pride in doing the job right and have the ability to work with limited supervision once trained.
  • Due to requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Ability to pass a National Agency Check within 1 year of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

  • Associate's degree in a related field or four or more years aircraft maintenance experience. USAF aircraft structural maintenance experience.
  • Four years directly relevant experience in US Air Force of corrosion control materials and corrosion control equipment.
  • Experience processing corrosion and coatings specimens in accordance with test plans.
  • Experience mixing and spraying common military aircraft coating systems.
  • Extensive familiarity with applicable aerospace structural materials, corrosion and coatings test specifications, and military/commercial standards.
  • Extensive familiarity with USAF technical orders 1-1-8, 1-1-691, 35-1-3. Have aircraft corrosion control experience on USAF aircraft and support equipment.
  • Extensive knowledge of USAF organizational, intermediate, and depot corrosion and coating operations.
  • Support program experience preferred (safety, haz-mat, haz-waste, RPP, etc.).
