Surgical Epileptologist Faculty Position at UCONN Health
The Department of Neurology at UCONN Health (University of Connecticut) is seeking an outstanding clinician educator or clinician scientist with fellowship training or expertise in the surgical treatment of epilepsy to develop and direct our surgical epilepsy program. Academic rank will depend on prior experience and accomplishments. UConn has a Level 3-certified Epilepsy Monitoring Unit and a functional neurosurgeon with expertise in surgical epilepsy and deep brain stimulation. The successful candidate will take the lead in expanding our program to include an invasive surgical program with the goal of Level 4 Epilepsy Center Certification. UConn has a joint residency program with Hartford Healthcare and has recently developed a shared fellowship program in Epilepsy. The department includes more than 20 faculty members with a wide range of subspecialty interests. UConn John Dempsey Hospital is a state-of-the-art facility with a well-staffed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. Neurology Clinic is housed in the Brain and Spine Institute Building a short walk from the Hospital. Our suburban Farmington campus is situated in the scenic Farmington River valley, 10 miles west of downtown Hartford and 90 miles from both New York City and Boston. UConn provides a vibrant academic environment invigorated by the Bioscience Connecticut initiative and our on-campus affiliation with the Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine.
