The hourly rate is $15.00 which translates to $31,200.00 per year.

General Schedule

The general schedule for this position is 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday.

Position Overview

Responsible for performing a variety of administrative duties for a large division/college, which may include multiple areas. Responsible for day-to-day operations of the department, coordinates projects assigned and develops office procedures. Initiates correspondence, memoranda, promotional material, forms, newsletters manual, and reports. Oversees the work of office, administrative, or customer service employees to ensure adherence to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures, correcting errors or problems. Develops and maintains confidential or complex files. Interprets and advises internal and external customers on programs, policies, or rules. Assists leadership in program/event planning, administers budgets, and coordinates academic and/or staff personnel matters. Resolves problems that have a significant impact on the overall goals of the department. May have contact with sensitive, complex, and confidential information. May be responsible for managing calendars, appointments, chair events, and meeting.

Department Specific Essential Job Functions

  • Manages the UCentral Front Desk, providing equipment to students enrolled in Professional Media courses. Ensures that all equipment is in working condition and provide technical assistance when needed.
  • Assists the Manager of Media Operations with the broadcasting budget and prioritizes purchases based on department needs.
  • Supervises up to 30 students per academic semester. Manages student employee payroll and all corresponding documentation and scheduling.
  • Provides students with all studio equipment for student broadcasts, in addition to instructing students on how to use this equipment.
  • Assists in implementing of and setting up the live streaming of all student newscasts and live productions.
  • Assists Manager of Media Operations in the setup and implementation of all official department broadcasts, in addition to all department events that aren’t broadcasted.
  • Assists department with social media content as needed.

Qualifications/Experience Required

Requires a bachelor’s degree in the field plus 3 years relevant experience; if no degree, requires more than 7 years of equivalent work experience that provides knowledge and skills to complete the responsibilities listed. Requires the application of expertise in a chosen field to achieve results.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Must possess general office skills. Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Good supervisory skills. Knowledge of basic office procedures and practices. Excellent telephone etiquette, oral and written communication, interpersonal, organizational, and public relations skills. Ability to work well with others. Ability to operate office equipment. Ability to multi-task. Excellent bookkeeping skills. Must be detailed oriented. Possess ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to work in a busy and noisy environment. Knowledge of broadcast and radio station operation, video and studio production, and social media.
