The UCSF-SFGH JJBH research team engages in a program of research that incorporates epidemiological/observation, behavioral intervention efficacy trial, and structural-level approaches to understanding how to improve behavioral health (HIV and sexually transmitted infections risk, psychiatric symptoms, substance use), and legal (recidivism) outcomes for system-involved youth and adults. The JJBH team also has a portfolio of work focusing on projects and programs specific to behavioral health service navigation for youth, young adults and families (e.g., a navigator program for transition age youth recently or currently involved in foster care, a family navigator program for youth and families served in Pediatric Primary Care at ZSFG), telehealth interventions for youth and families impacted by the child welfare system, and evaluation of gender-responsive behavioral health services for girls and women who have contact with the justice system (e.g., evaluation of VoicesHEAL gender responsive services).Â
Under the supervision of JJBH Supervisor, the incumbent will work closely with Dr. Marina Tolou-Shams and JJBH collaborators and partners to help coordinate and support Dr. Marina Tolou-Shamsâ JJBH research grants. The incumbent will support with gathering, analyzing, and interpreting a wide variety of research data. Designs and conducts research including selecting data samples, developing research instruments, analyzing collected information according to established statistical methods, and developing recommendations based on research findings. Prepares reports, charts, tables, and other visual aids to interpret and communicate data and results.

Qualifications Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training - Working knowledge of research function - Working skills in statistical analysis, systems programming, database design and data security measures - Working skills in analysis and consultation - Skills to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing - Ability to effectively manage time and see assigned parts of projects through to completion on deadline - Basic consultation and communication skills - Demonstrated experience in clinical research and scientific writing including contributions or original ideas of importance in the prosecution of laboratory and/or field phases of research or combination of journey level knowledge and skill drawn from two ordinarily distinct occupational fields or scientific disciplines Preferred Qualifications: - Strong oral/written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills - Exceptional analytical skills to evaluate the importance and urgency of problems - Excellent demonstrated interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills - Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team - Ability to exercise independent judgment - Ability to interpret and apply policies and regulations - Strong accuracy and attention to detailAdditional Details
