Campus Life Services is seeking a creative and highly organized Multimedia Communications Specialist to support multimedia storytelling, social media management, and internal communications initiatives. This role is ideal for a communications professional who enjoys creating engaging content across digital platforms and producing compelling stories that highlight people, programs, and services within the UCSF community.
The Multimedia Communications Specialist will develop short-form video content, social media campaigns, written features, photography, newsletters, and other multimedia communications that support employee engagement and organizational visibility. This position works closely with CLS leadership, internal partners, and centralized communications teams to execute strategic communications initiatives aligned with the CLS mission and brand.
This role requires regular onsite collaboration, interviews, photo/video shoots, and content creation activities across UCSF locations.
Qualifications Required Qualifications: - Bachelorâs degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience - Experience creating and managing content across social media platforms - Experience with video creation, editing, and multimedia storytelling - Strong writing, editing, and copywriting skills - Experience developing content for digital communications and marketing campaigns - Knowledge of social media trends, audience engagement strategies, and emerging platforms - Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment - Strong interpersonal, customer service, and collaboration skills - Experience using email marketing platforms and communications tools - Basic photography and videography skills including shooting and editing content Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro or Adobe Creative Suite - Experience working in higher education, healthcare, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations - Familiarity with content management systems such as WordPress, Drupal, or Squarespace - Experience with Canva or graphic design tools - Experience producing internal communications or employee engagement campaigns About UCSF The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is a leading university dedicated to promoting health worldwide through advanced biomedical research, graduate-level education in the life sciences and health professions, and excellence in patient care.
