The History of Consciousness Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for an ongoing pool of lecturers who may be appointed to teach courses in and across the following subject areas: philosophy and theory; race and ethnicity; gender & sexuality; political economy and social movements; media, aesthetics, and poetics. Candidates must be willing to teach both seminars and large lecture courses.
The campus is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the inclusive excellence of the academic community through their teaching and other assigned duties.
The hiring unit will not sponsor employment-eligible immigration statuses for this position.
Internal candidates will be given priority consideration.

- Master's degree or higher (or equivalent foreign degree) in a field relating to one of the advertised subject areas (philosophy and theory; race and ethnicity; gender & sexuality; political economy and social movements; media, aesthetics, and poetics).
- Demonstrated teaching experience in higher education in one or more of the advertised subject areas.
