The Senior Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in the surgical team, ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures. The successful candidate will have recent scrubbing clinical experience and proficiency in multiple surgical specialties. They will be responsible for setting up instruments, passing instruments during surgery, and maintaining a sterile environment. This position requires flexibility to work across various UCSF Medical Center locations, including the Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland and Walnut Creek.
- Select and set up instruments and equipment for surgical procedures.
- Function as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams.
- Carry out established procedures and perform related duties as required.
- Pass instruments and sterile supplies to the surgeon during operations.
- Maintain a sterile environment throughout the surgical process.
- Orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations as needed.
- Demonstrate service excellence and adhere to Living PRIDE standards.
- Keep working areas clean and orderly, adhering to safety and infection control policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned, ensuring a harmonious work environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Two years recent scrubbing clinical experience in an acute care operating room
Recent cardiac experience (within last two years)
- Active American Heart Association (AHA) CPR Certification for healthcare providers
- High School Diploma; or equivalent experience
- Graduate of a surgical technologist training program; or equivalent experience
- The flexibility to work and orient at all UCSF Health locations
Preferred Requirements:
Certification as a Surgical Technologist.
Pediatric experience desired
License/Certifications:
- Active American Heart Association (AHA) CPR Certification for healthcare providers
