Involves the provision of integrated and accessible primary and specialty patient care services in a clinic or center environment. Care is provided by clinicians and assistants who are accountable for addressing a large majority of personal health care needs and developing a sustainable partnership with patients. Ensures optimal patient outcomes through effective leadership and / or provision of patient care delivery in healthcare clinics or centers. Promotes shared decision-making at all levels to ensure a shared voice in practices, exchange of ideas, enhanced communication, and continually improved patient services. Management levels responsible for clinic operations. The Associate Director of Clinical Operations directs the delivery of interdisciplinary clinical / nursing services, and ambulatory care, for multiple clinic (s) or center (s). Accountable for adherence to patient care practice standards, external regulations and accreditations, and overall direction and management of the clinical staff. Ensures patient care standards are achieved and in alignment with internal policies and external regulations. Responsible for overseeing the investigation and resolution of patient complaints. May also manage practice or center management operations. Responsible for overseeing ongoing clinical performance and quality improvement in the area of Radiation Oncology. This position would be responsible for managing clinical operations at multiple sites.


Required qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years nursing experience with demonstrated leadership experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Registered Nurse in the State of California and / or licensure in relevant clinical specialty.
  • Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
  • Strong clinic / center patient care management skills. Strong knowledge of relevant healthcare and clinic operations including information technology, patient care workflows and processes. Practice management knowledge in scheduling, customer-service methods, regulatory compliance, accreditation requirements, and / or information technology. Broad knowledge of patient population served and the requirements for the delivery of services.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to create and maintain a climate for effective communication and collaborative decision making.
  • Strong leadership, fiscal, and operations management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, management, and staff from all disciplines. Ability to create and maintain a goal-oriented climate of teamwork, collaboration, and consistent achievement of objectives.
  • Knowledge of relevant healthcare information technology and patient care workflows and processes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, as well as related legislative, accreditation, licensing, and compliance environments.
  • Proven ability to organize, manage multiple priorities, and delegate work functions efficiently.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging best practices and technologies in the clinic / center healthcare industry.
  • Demonstrated organizational and project management skills, with the ability to lead a team, prioritize tasks, and see projects through from inception to completion. High level of initiative and ability to work independently.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working as RN in Oncology
  • 1 - 2 years supervisory, project management or quality healthcare experience
  • Master's Degree
  • Training in quality improvement or Lean methodology
  • Experience in a large academic medical center ambulatory setting
  • Experience with QA/The Joint Commission process for quality improvement
  • Experience supervising in a union environment

License/Certification:

  • Registered Nurse in the State of California and / or licensure in relevant clinical specialty.
  • Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
