What are the responsibilities and job description for the L’Etoile Lab – Associate or Full Specialist position at University of California, San Francisco?
Position Description
L’Etoile Lab – Associate or Full Specialist
Department of Cell & Tissue Biology
UC San Francisco
The candidate for this position is needed to perform basic and translational research studying learning and memory in the context of aging and neurodegeneration. The candidate will be expected to jump into our studies that have identified the role for a highly conserved Transient Receptor Channel (TRP) protein in neuronal plasticity, discovered the neural basis for motor memory and found neural correlates to sleep that decay during aging and predispose to age dependent memory declines. In this Specialist position the candidate will need to: 1) publish current findings, 2) extend existing methods and analyses to new memory paradigms for which this strategy may be useful, and 3) test novel neuromodulation protocols as part of an ongoing collaboration with Drs. Andrei Goga (CTB UCSF) and Miri VanHoven (SJSU)’s labs.
