Description
The staff RN PD is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for the surgical patient. Under minimal supervision, functions as a scrub and circulating nurse. Participates in call assignments including nights, weekends, and holidays. Ability to comply with department standards inclusive of attendance, dress code, and a varied work schedule. The primary responsibilities of the clinical nurse include, but are not limited to, the proper care of instrumentation and equipment; direct nursing care of patients utilizing the nursing process; development and application of leadership, delegation, and communication concepts; teaching of patients, staff, and students; maintenance of professional standards. Function as a member of a team. Participate in maintaining a survey-ready environment. Ensure patient safety by following regulatory and hospital standards of care. Utilize and participate in evidence-based research to guide best practice.
Qualifications
Minimum of twoyears experienceas circulating and scrub nurse in an inpatient Operating Room Required
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. . Experience with Electronic Health Records to accurately document the operative procedure with surgical interventions. Skills in setting priorities, organizing workload effectively and integrating multiple assignments with multilevel personnel. Ability to speak, write, and read English with excellent medical/surgical terminology. Work independently and follow through on all assignments. Ability to move objects, such as heavy carts and handle surgical equipment safely BSN required. California Registered Nursing License required. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification required. Certified Nurse Operating Room preferred. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support certifications preferred.
