As a valued member of the Food & Nutrition Services team, you will play a key role in ensuring patients receive safe, nutritious, and timely meals. This position supports tray assembly, meal delivery, sanitation, and patient interaction, helping maintain a clean and organized food service environment in compliance with health and safety standards.
Responsibilities:

Set up assigned tray assembly station with all necessary items including dishes, paper supplies, food, condiments, and utensils

Operate all tray assembly stations as assigned

Store and rotate food and supplies according to departmental guidelines

Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures at all times

Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized workstation

Present menus to patients and assist with menu selections as needed

Assemble and distribute meals accurately based on the diet master list

Collect meal trays after service and transport food carts to designated areas

Deliver snacks to patients per schedule or request

Ensure all food service equipment and surfaces are cleaned and sanitized

Support trayline operations as needed throughout shifts

Assist in the dishroom, potroom, and perform general housekeeping tasks
- Previous experience in food service, including tray assembly and meal delivery
- Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions in English to accurately match menu selections with food items
- Ability to work efficiently as part of a team in a fast-paced trayline environment
- Basic math skills to perform calculations without a calculator
- General understanding of therapeutic diets and dietary restrictions
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact professionally with patients, co-workers, supervisors, and medical staff
- Ability to comply with departmental dress code and hygiene standards
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and repeatedly stretch, bend, push, walk, lift, and reach throughout the shift
- Ability to lift and maneuver heavy carts safely
- Willingness to attend departmental training and development sessions
