What are the responsibilities and job description for the Toolroom Machinist position at University of Bristol - School of Physiology, Pharmacology and Neuroscience?
The role
A fantastic opportunity has a risen for an enthusiastic and experienced Toolroom/Workshop Machinist based in the University of Bristol, Faculty of Science & Engineering Queens Mechanical Workshop.
Manufacturing of bespoke designs, working in a toolroom environment with other highly skilled toolmakers. Providing specialist support to academics, Postgraduates and students across the faculty of Science and Engineering. Providing teaching support using the background knowledge of apprenticeships, to aid in the use of pillar drills and other equipment.
What will you be doing?
Toolroom machining. Machines include CNC Milling turning and EDM. Manual lathes, mills grinding and laser cutting. Fitting knowledge/skills also.
Teaching support in a classroom environment.
Supporting research projects around Queens building and adding design knowledge
You should apply if
City & Guilds Or Relevant Qualifications Tool Room Machinist.
Knowledge of CAD systems, inclusive of siemens, fanuc and Autodesk/fusion
Excellent communication skills
