Job Description
A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of C. Ryan Miller in the Department of Pathology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). We seek a highly motivated computational scientist to develop and apply cutting-edge bioinformatics approaches to understand the molecular drivers of malignant brain tumors and identify new therapeutic opportunities.
The successful candidate will join a collaborative and multidisciplinary research environment focused on gliomas and other central nervous system tumors. The fellow will work closely with investigators in pathology, neuro-oncology, neurosurgery, cancer biology, genomics, proteomics, and computational biology, with access to extensive patient-derived datasets, state-of-the-art molecular profiling technologies, and the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center’s resources.
Research projects will involve integrative analysis of large-scale multiomic datasets generated from human tumors and experimental models, including bulk and single-cell transcriptomics, epigenomics, proteomics, and emerging spatial technologies.
The position provides outstanding opportunities for scientific independence, high-impact publications, grant development, and career advancement in cancer genomics and computational biology.
