Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary HR resource for assigned units
- Interpret employment laws and UAB policies to guide compliant decision-making
- Support the full cycle hiring process in collaboration with Talent Acquisition and Compensation
- Provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, and documentation
- Work with HR Centers of Expertise (Compensation, HRIS, Benefits, Payroll, Employee Relations) to resolve issues accurately and timely
- Support organization-wide HR initiatives, policy updates, and system changes
- Use HR data to identify trends and recommend improvements
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Five (5) years of related Human Resources experience
- Work experience may NOT substitute for the education requirement
- HR certification (PHR, aPHRi, SHRM-CP/SCP, etc.)
- Higher education or complex organizational HR experience
- Knowledge of HR systems and employment-law compliance
