Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Cathlab101 Truman Medical CenterJob LocationUniversity Health Truman Medical CenterKansas City, MissouriAs a Cath Lab RN, you won't just assist with procedures - you'll be a hands-on part of life-saving care. From prepping patients to supporting invasive cardiac and vascular procedures, to jumping into action with emergency interventions, your role is pivotal. Think intra-aortic balloon pumps, temporary pacemakers, and real-time hemodynamic monitoring - this is nursing at the highest level.
What You'll Be Doing:
Support patients through pre-, intra-, and post-procedure care for cardiovascular and interventional procedures.
Work side-by-side with cardiologists during catheterizations and interventions, assisting with life-saving emergency procedures when needed.
Set up, calibrate, and monitor electrical and hemodynamic systems to record real-time data and guide treatment.
Deliver safe, skilled, compassionate nursing care using the full nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate.
Collaborate with the care team and families to tailor each patient's care plan and ensure the best possible outcomes.
Stay cool and focused in urgent situations - your training and critical thinking shine when it matters most.
Provide service with professionalism, integrity, and heart - every patient, every time.
What You Bring:
ADN or BSN from an accredited nursing program.
Current RN license in the State of Missouri.
Valid BCLS and ACLS certifications.
Prior Cath Lab experience and Electrophysiology experience
Strong working knowledge of the cardiovascular system and related procedures.
Excellent communication skills - you're clear, calm, and effective with patients and teammates.
Confidence and ability to act independently in fast-paced or critical situations.
For this role, you must live within a 30 minute drive to University Health TMC (downtown) to be able to meet on-call requirements.
