Join our team! The University Book Store is now hiring weekend sales associates at our State Street store. We are seeking an enthusiastic, customer-focused team member for a part-time role, requiring 10 to 20 hours per week. Must be available to work Saturdays.
JOB FUNCTION:
Serves customers at the sales counter providing outstanding customer service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Performs UBS customer service expectations as required.
- Performs basic cash handling and sales transactions to accurately record purchases, and complete transactions according to company procedures.
- Serves customers, answer customer inquiries, and assists customers, demonstrating positive attitude and exceptional service.
- Keeps register/counter area clean and stocked.
- Maintains sales floor presentation, including stocking and rotating merchandise, cleaning and straightening merchandise and fixtures to present a positive store image.
- Unloads and move merchandise to and from the sales floor.
- Maintains sales floor security.
- Performs all additional duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Helps ensure department teamwork, enthusiasm and commitment to optimum levels of customer service, sales, organization, and professionalism.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School degree
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to perform intermittent climbing and bending.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude and willingness to perform a variety of tasks.
- Retail sales experience preferred.
