The University Book Store—one of the nation’s leading independent college bookstores—is seeking a strategic, mission-driven Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead our organization into its next chapter.
As CEO, you will oversee all operations, drive financial performance, and shape the long-term vision of a historic institution serving the University of Washington community. You will also serve as a Book Store Trustee and Member of the Board of Directors, reporting directly to the Board.
What You’ll Do
- Lead all aspects of business performance with full P&L responsibility
- Drive strategic planning, growth, and operational excellence
- Build strong partnerships across the University of Washington community
- Provide transparent communication and reporting to the Board
- Represent the Book Store with integrity and professionalism
What We’re Looking For
- Proven executive leadership and team management experience
- Strong financial and operational acumen
- Strategic, collaborative, relationship-focused leadership style
- Experience in retail, higher-education, or bookstore sectors is a plus
