The School of Dental Medicine is seeking an Infection Control & Safety Manager to develop and execute annual SDM Infection Control and safety plans. Under the supervision and direction of the Compliance Officer, the incumbent’s primary responsibilities are as follows:
- Keep abreast of clinical infection control and safety requirements for Article 28 facility and plan for the implementation and evaluation of protocols to meet and adhere to NYS DOH regulations.
- Has, or a willingness to obtain, certification in dental infection prevention and control (CDIPC).
- Monitor and document adherence to infection control and safety protocols with inspections, reporting, coordinating remediation, and implementation of sanctions.
- Serve as an educator and conduct required annual and ad hoc training for students, faculty, and staff.
- Serve as Chair for the Infection and Hazard Control Committee.
- Conducts dental unit waterline testing.
- Manages, updates, and trains faculty, students, and staff on the school’s emergency response system (CODE5).
- Maintains/updates Incident Report Forms, Occupational Exposure Guidelines, and other clinical safety forms.
- Audits all emergency equipment in clinical areas for expiration and functionality. Reorders emergency supplies as needed.
- Maintains quality assurance data on incident reports.
- Other compliance and clinical operation responsibilities as assigned.
