What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mover position at Universal Rentals and Events?
Overview
We need capable applicants that can carry furniture, tables, chairs, transport them in and out of trucks and properly restock pallets in the warehouse and put away rental furniture.
Driving a forklift is a plus, pallet jack is a plus
Driving a 16 foot or 22 foot truck is a plus
Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload household or commercial items using proper lifting techniques and equipment such as dollies, pallet jacks, or forklifts when necessary
- Drive box trucks or
drivers to transport items between locations efficiently and responsibly - Assist customers with moving needs by providing excellent customer service and clear communication throughout the process
- Load and secure items properly in the truck to prevent damage during transit
- Unload items at the destination, ensuring accuracy and careful handling of all belongings
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of trucks and moving supplies to ensure safety and efficiency
- Follow route driving plans, adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols at all times
Skills
- Proven experience in moving, warehouse work, or delivery driving with a focus on heavy lifting and manual handling
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional attitude
- Experience operating commercial vehicles such as box trucks or
drivers’ licenses with manual transmission proficiency - Ability to operate equipment like forklifts, pallet jacks, or other loading tools safely and effectively
- Knowledge of route driving best practices for timely deliveries and pickups
- Physical stamina to lift heavy objects repeatedly while maintaining proper form
- Familiarity with warehouse procedures, load & unload operations, and safety standards
