Universal Plant Services is seeking a skilled and motivated billing specialist to work in our Deer Park, TX location. A Billing Specialist is responsible for managing and processing invoices, ensuring accuracy in billing, and maintaining financial records. They work closely with customers, internal teams, and accounting departments to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure timely payments.
Essential Job Requirements:
- Generate and issue accurate invoices to customers.
- Review and verify billing data for completeness and accuracy.
- Process payments, refunds, and adjustments as needed.
- Communicate with customers regarding billing inquiries and discrepancies.
- Maintain and update customer account records.
- Work with internal teams to resolve billing issues.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Prepare reports on billing activities and outstanding balances.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Education
- This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Associates or Bachelors in Accounting or Finance is a plus.
Required Experience
- 2 years of billing or accounting experience
- Proven experience in billing, accounts receivable, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in billing software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift no more than 20 pounds.
- Use repetitive hand motions.
- Prolonged use of the computer.
- Steady phone interactions
