JOB SUMMARY:

The Sales Manager, Business Development is a client-obsessed, revenue-driven leader responsible for driving sustained growth within the Travel Agency channel through high-touch engagement, consistent sales outreach, and modern selling techniques. This role serves as a primary growth catalyst by maintaining deep relationships with travel agency partners, executing structured daily sales activity, and equipping clients with the tools, training, and confidence to generate demand—particularly through social media and digital channels.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Client Engagement & Sales Execution

  • Own and actively manage a portfolio of large network, HOST, and targeted travel agency accounts.
  • Conduct multiple outbound sales calls per business day to agency owners, managers, and top-producing advisors, focused on: driving bookings, identifying new business opportunities and advancing account-specific growth strategies
  • Develop and maintain account-specific sales plans aligned to monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by delivering strategic insights, performance reviews, and tailored growth recommendations.
  • Lead efforts to help Universal Orlando Resort (UOR) achieve favorable market share within the travel agency channel.

In-Person Training, Events & Trade Engagement

  • Deliver in-person trainings at regional travel agent events, on-site UOR trainings and partner conferences and trade shows
  • Execute engaging, high-impact virtual sales presentations and webinars that effectively communicate product value, drive advisor confidence, and convert engagement into bookings.
  • Represent UOR at industry events, including evenings and weekends as required.
  • Deliver engaging, modern presentations that drive conversion, confidence, and brand advocacy.

Business Development & Strategic Growth

  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within assigned regions and accounts.
  • Lead strategic initiatives across the Travel Industry Sales team, including: Training innovation, U-Preferred program enhancements, and regional/national sales strategies
  • Solicit and win bids to host partner conferences and major agency events at UOR.

Digital & Social Media Engagement

  • Actively engage travel advisors through the Universal Partner Community and social media platforms.
  • Train and coach clients on how to create effective social media content, including: Short-form video, Destination storytelling, Promotional messaging aligned with Universal Orlando brand standards.
  • Educate clients on how to leverage social platforms to: Increase visibility, Drive consumer demand, and Convert engagement into bookings.
  • Support and respond to agent inquiries across digital channels in a timely, professional manner.

CRM, Reporting & Sales Discipline

  • Actively engage travel advisors through the Universal Partner Community and social media platforms.
  • Train and coach clients on how to create effective social media content, including: Short-form video, Destination storytelling, Promotional messaging aligned with Universal Orlando brand standards
  • Educate clients on how to leverage social platforms to: Increase visibility, Drive consumer demand, and Convert engagement into bookings
  • Support and respond to agent inquiries across digital channels in a timely, professional manner.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred;
  • or equivalent industry experience.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years of applicable industry experience; direct experience in the travel agency channel strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success growing accounts and driving measurable sales results.
  • Proven ability to conduct consultative sales conversations and deliver high-impact presentations (in-person and virtual).
  • Experience training adults and influencing business owners.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Strong proficiency in Salesforce, Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Comfort with social media platforms and digital content trends (prior professional content creation experience a plus).
  • Experience with VAX Vacation Access preferred.
  • Travel required: 50% or more
