This position is based in Ankeny, Iowa, supporting John Deere operations. Our team plays a critical role in coordinating daily transportation activities, managing driver communication, supporting material flow, and ensuring the seamless movement of freight throughout John Deere's supply chain network.
Shift Available
- 2nd Shift: Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily routes, assign drivers, and monitor freight movement to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, John Deere representatives, and internal operational teams.
- Track inbound and outbound shipments and provide real-time updates on load status, delays, and service exceptions.
- Manage driver schedules and equipment utilization to maximize productivity and operational efficiency.
- Monitor transportation performance metrics and ensure customer service expectations and KPIs are consistently achieved.
- Investigate and resolve transportation issues, including delays, breakdowns, scheduling conflicts, and service disruptions.
- Maintain accurate records, manifests, transportation logs, and operational documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, DOT regulations, and safety standards.
- Coach and support drivers while addressing performance, attendance, and operational concerns when necessary.
- Collaborate with transportation, warehouse, and customer teams to maintain smooth freight flow and operational execution.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions that enhance service, efficiency, and cost performance.
- Support daily operational planning and contribute to the overall success of the John Deere account.
Qualifications
- 0-3 years of experience in transportation, dispatch, logistics, manufacturing, warehousing, or distribution.
- Previous dispatch, transportation coordination, or fleet management experience is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and perform in a fast-paced environment.
- Leadership mindset with the ability to coach, support, and develop team members.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and transportation management systems (TMS) is preferred.
- Experience working with operational metrics, KPIs, and reporting is a plus.
Salary : $60,000 - $70,000
